St Margaret Mary's College aims to assist individuals of any year level to make educational, training and occupational choices and to manage their careers. A personalised approach to Career Counselling is offered to the students of this College. Students may attend face-to-face interviews with the Career Development Co-ordinator. These interviews provide an opportunity to clear any doubts or queries student may have regarding career options and education courses. Students may be inspired and motivated to identify their interests and strengths and empowered to work hard in their studies to achieve their goals and ambitions.
Career Programs at SMMC help develop employment-related skills and understanding of the work environment. As well as these programs, the students are encouraged to participate in Work Experience in Years 10, 11 or 12. Students may also incorporate Vocational Education and Training Courses, TAFE VET in Schools Courses and School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships to provide alternative pathways and career options. As each student is unique, Career advice is tailored to their individual needs throughout their schooling. Students may be interviewed at various occasions for example, Year 10 SET Planning and Year 12 Career Pathway advice or Career Transition planning.
